I used pencil to make the board and write synonyms in each spot (that's what we were working on). While I was busy preparing, I let my student pick 2 crayons out, 1 for me and 1 for her. Then we played! As we picked our "spot" we had to say the synonym for the word in the box. As you can tell above, no one won! But I prepared for that one!! I didn't take up the whole paper! I just made a new board and played again! When we ran out of paper, we started using my dry erase board! I let my student help me come up with words to put into the boxes too!! She felt like a teacher's helper which she LOVED!! Who knew that tic-tac-toe can be the answer?!
